A lot of Booval brick is solid rather than cavity, and where a damp course exists it is likely to be slate or an early bitumen. A treated wall dries at roughly a month per 25mm of thickness, in good conditions. A 225mm solid wall is therefore most of a year. Anyone promising a finished, repainted wall a fortnight after injection is either not treating rising damp or is about to trap the moisture behind new plaster.
The independent evidence for electro-osmotic and wireless systems is weak, and several reviews have found no measurable effect against an untreated control. We would not recommend spending money on one before a physical barrier and the ground conditions have been dealt with.
